My service on the Orange County School Board for the last four years was an unexpected chapter in my life, but one that gave me passion and voice that I didn't know I had. I realize now, although my decision to not run for re-election was difficult, this experience, along with other chapters in my life, added another rich dimension to who I am. We are all the combination of our many experiences and choices. One of the things I look forward to is returning to my art and landscape design, and finding ways to fold them into my service to children.
Our children who live in urban environments do not always have understanding of the natural environment, and even though it is not in lush abundance, it is still all around them. There are many teaching opportunities to capture.
